How it works

3Dillo reads the walls, doors, windows and rooms of a floor plan, builds a furnished, lit 3D house from them and renders photoreal stills and a walkthrough video, delivered with the plan they came from.

  1. Step 1

    Start

Pick a 3D template, bring your own DWG or DXF, or describe the building to Dillo, the AI drafter in CADdillo, and let it draw the plan. Tell us about the plan on the contact page; we reply by email, and you attach the DWG or DXF to that reply.

  2. Step 2

    Read the drawing

3Dillo reads walls, doors, windows, rooms and storeys from the plan. The 3D house is built from those, so it matches the drawing to the inch.

  3. Step 3

    Furnish and light

Each room is furnished for what it is (kitchen runs, beds, dining sets, plants, rugs, art) and lit.

  4. Step 4

    Render

Photoreal stills or a looping walkthrough video (100 credits per render) that walks from the curb through every room. Renders queue on our machines first and burst to rented GPUs when they are busy.

  5. Step 5

    Change it and re-render

Changes are made on the plan with Dillo in CADdillo: move a wall, add a fireplace, swap the flooring. The plan changes first, then the house is rendered again, 100 credits like any render.

The plan and the 3D together

Every render comes back with the floor plan it was built from, so you always see what the 3D came from.

A change goes on the plan first, with Dillo in CADdillo, then the house is rendered again.

The renderer

3Dillo renders with its own build of Blender, the open-source 3D suite used by studios. You never have to open it.

Same price wherever a job runs. Rendered files are kept 30 days, then deleted.

Questions

How do I turn a floor plan into a 3D walkthrough?

Pick one of three starts, a ready-made 3D template, your own DWG or DXF file, or a plan drawn from scratch with Dillo, the AI drafter. Tell us about the plan on the contact page; we reply by email, and you attach the DWG or DXF to that reply.

3Dillo reads the walls, doors, windows and rooms from the drawing, furnishes and lights each room, then renders stills and a walkthrough video that follows a path from the front walk through every room. You watch the video next to the plan it came from.

What are the three ways to start a project?

Template, your own file, or scratch.

Templates are 3D buildings already drawn and rendered, ready to change. Your own file is any DWG or DXF floor plan. Scratch means describing what you want to Dillo, the AI drafter, which draws the plan first and then renders it.

Do I need to know Blender or any 3D software?

No. 3Dillo does the modelling, furnishing, lighting and rendering for you from the floor plan.

The renderer underneath is 3Dillo's own build of Blender, the open-source 3D suite, so the output is the same quality studios use. You never have to open it.

Can I start from my own DWG or DXF file?

Yes, and 3Dillo builds the 3D house from it. Tell us about the plan on the contact page; we reply by email, and you attach the DWG or DXF to that reply.

Opening, viewing, editing and exporting DWG and DXF files is free and uses no credits. Credits are only spent on AI work such as drawing a plan or rendering it in 3D.

What do I get back from a render?

Photoreal stills as PNG images and the walkthrough as an MP4 video.

The plan itself stays a CAD drawing you can export as DWG or DXF at any time, free.

How long does a render take?

We send the finished stills and walkthrough by email; a walkthrough video takes longer than stills, because it is more than a thousand rendered frames.

Finished files are kept for 30 days, so download what you want to keep.
